4 x 12″s Of Joy
With it being close to a month since I have last updated this website, proceedings are suggestive that this ‘web project’ is not going to be as regular as I had suggested. But let’s now worry to much about that – things grow best organically, not when they are forced.
Below are some cuts, samples and links to reviews of the tunes that have kept me musically overwhelmed in the last twenty days. Enjoy. x

Filling The Void

Taking some time away from his busy work and travel schedule, I recently caught up with melodic-techno master Funk D’Void and quizzed him about his fresh label Outpost.
Here are four tips he suggested for hungry producers looking to grab the attention of his new imprint:
1. Avoid using too many presets.
2. Try and layer your basses or synths.
3. Avoid over-compression too – let the track breathe.
4. Employ that sequence or effect that lifts a track into that “wooah” area for it’s listeners.
You can read the full interview HERE and listen to exactly what he means below:
Oh, and whilst you’re here I may as well plug the other review that I wrote for DT that’s been published today: a rather spiffing techno EP from Mitch Davis. Investigate it my child, you’ll come away wiser.
