Lee Curtiss – Watergate 08

Watergate Records

Previously unpublished

Review:

Watergate compilation releases are like holy-gifts from the Gods of ‘German Music Aesthetics’, with each mix being an encapsulated definition of both the sounds and trends of  the Berlin club that season. Visionquest member, Lee Curtiss, takes to the decks for this summer’s sultry and understated house offering, with flavoursome cuts from Marco Plex, dOP, and Footprintz ensuring the mood is kept light and of the moment. Curtiss shows a deft hand by reigning-in the mix to just  fourteen well-situated numbers, but little variation or new sounds suggest things have been played a little safely, although who cares about that when you’ve got a seamless flow of delectable house music?
