Review:
Run by the Tiefschwarz brothers in Berlin, Souvenir has been churning out top-draw techno and deep house 12”s since 2006. Celebrating their fifth birthday in fine style, the imprint marks its half-decade with a dual-disc compilation comprised of both new and classic cuts. CD1 takes the form of fresh material from the Souvenir stable; deep and hypnotic rhythms laid down by Nico Laah, &Me, and Ruede Hagelstein. The brothers take to the desk for the second CD, offering a well-mixed swift journey through twenty-one of the label’s finest moments – including Psychonaut’s World Keeps Turning and Phonique’s What I Fake. An immersive and rewarding anthology for new and old fans alike.
